Grand Opening · Epoxy Training
Learn to pour custom epoxy floors like a pro.
A two-day, hands-on training in Chicago. Small class. Real floors. Walk out able to prep a slab, pour a metallic, lay down flake, and topcoat with confidence — plus the pricing basics to book your first paying job.
What you learn
Two days. Six real skills.
Concrete diagnosis & prep
Reading the slab, moisture testing, grinding, patching cracks, and getting a surface a coating will actually stick to.
Base coats & primers
Choosing the right resin for the job, mixing ratios, pot-life, and laying a flawless base coat every time.
Metallic techniques
Pigment blends, torching, and the movement techniques that separate a pro-looking metallic from a muddy one.
Flake & quartz systems
Broadcast rates, back-rolling, scraping, and how to hit a consistent finish across a whole garage floor.
Topcoats & finishing
Polyaspartics vs. polyurethanes, application windows, cove details, and getting a mirror finish that lasts.
Pricing & booking work
How to quote by the square foot, what to charge for prep, and the phone script that turns a lead into a deposit.
Curriculum
How the two days unfold.
Fundamentals & prep
Chemistry basics, safety, tools of the trade, moisture testing, grinding demo, and hands-on slab prep on a live section of floor.
Base coat pour
Full mix-and-pour of a base coat. Roller technique, back-rolling, edge work, and how to keep a wet edge on a large surface.
Metallic + flake
Two hands-on stations: pouring a metallic and broadcasting a flake system. You do both — with coaching on movement and pigment control.
Topcoat & finish
Applying polyaspartic topcoat, cove details, and troubleshooting common finish defects (fisheyes, bubbles, roller marks) live.
Business kit + support
Leave with the pricing sheet, quote template, and a private 30-day chat to ask questions on your first paid job.

Michael Moreno — 10+ years of custom pours.
Michael has hand-poured hundreds of custom epoxy floors across Chicagoland — garages, basements, restaurants, and commercial spaces. This class is the exact playbook he used to build Chi Resin Custom Coatings from a one-man crew into a full-time studio. You get the techniques and the shortcuts, not the guesswork.
